Congo Muungano - Premium Lot

Congo Muungano - Premium Lot

Muungano means “togetherness” in Swahili—a fitting name for a cooperative built on collective effort and shared vision. What began in 2009 with 350 founding members in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo has grown to over 4,200 farmers, working together near the shores of Lake Kivu.

Despite its relatively young age, the co-op now exports up to five containers of specialty coffee a year to Europe and the U.S.—a testament to its focus on quality, transparency, and community-led development.

Tasting notes: milk chocolate, lemon, chamomile, and fig. The cup is smooth and vibrant, with a clean, juicy lift and a finish that brings everything into balance.
